The "Greek" here looking to redeem himself after an average 1st round of picks. In the East we had all 4 teams with Black and Red uniforms advance, while in the West we had the bottom 4 seeded teams upset the top 4. Now on to my round 2 picks - I should be able to go 4 for 4 this time as all series' seem easy to a determine the winner in.

- Anaheim over Colorado. These are not The Avalanche that we are used to seeing as of late (they have lost a lot of talent) and Theodore can only hold them in it for so long. Also, these Ducks know how to win and if you have not yet noticed Duck's goalie Bryzgalov is the real deal.

- San Jose over Edmonton. This is the showdown of the class of the '97 draft. Thornton (Joe not Scott), Samsonov and Marleau all were taken that year in the 1st rd. Although Sergei beat out Big Joe and Pat for rookie of the year honors that season he will not beat them out in this playoff series. Look for Joe to struggle once again this series (it is still the playoffs) but for his team mates to once again to pick up the slack and advance over a much weaker Oilers team. Sharks in 5.

- Devils over Canes. I Don't really care much for this match up but boring Devils have the world's best goalie (Brodeur) to cover up most of his teams mistakes. Devils in 6.

- Buffalo over Ottawa. The Sens finally made a move to get a playoff goalie but he is not playing (more going on here than an injury - 10 weeks for a pulled groin???). Emery played well in the regular season but from what I have seen in the playoffs he will be their new scapegoat when they choke once again (Lalime must be happy to be out of that situation). Also I will give Buffalo credit in winning this series as they have not had this much offence since the days of the French Connection - for you non hockey followers that would be the line of Perreault, Martin and Robert from the 1970's.
