PJ Stock vs Stephen Peat - just click the arrow in the middle. Gotta love the Bruin's Yogi Bear uni's - Best alternate jersys in the league.

Best hockey fight of 2002. In case you are wondering what happened to P.J. - he is now writing a column for Hockey Buzz (called "The Stock Report"). Peat is probably still recovering from this beating.

"Silly Sign Saturday" - Found on a sign board outside of a gun and beer store in Daytona, Florida. Really makes one think. Posted by Picasa

FIFA has suspended Zinedine Zidane for 3 matches for his headbutt on Marco Materazzi during The World Cup Final. This seems to be "harsh" punishment for Zizou seeing as he is now retired. FIFA had several other avenues of punishment they could have taken (fines, etc..) but decided to take the easy way out. When I contacted a FIFA rep about the non-punishment I was told, "he is from France that is more than enough punishment for any human being". Posted by Picasa

Today in History - July 18th 1994 - The New York Jets sign U.S. soccer goalkeeper Tony Meola as their new place kicker - "WTF". Sadly, for the Jets, he has been the team's only bright spot in the last 12 years. However, it is still one more bright spot than what the Raiders had over this time. Posted by Picasa

Blair after Ball Hockey on Friday Nite. We won the game 4-3 and Blair recorded his first career hat-trick. If he doesn't look happy it is because team leader and captain Shawn Tricco had words with him after the game - Tricco told him, " Blair leave the scoring to Pike, Buffett and Hillier. You only had one penalty and never even came close to getting in a fight - this is a team Blair and to be successful everyone must know their role and stick to it." Posted by Picasa

Just a couple of shots of Tricco and Blair from our golf game yesterday - They were ranked 2nd and 3rd funniest in our group of 3 for the day. Posted by Picasa

Italian captain Fabio Cannavaro and French Captain Zinedine Zidane shake hands before the World Cup Final on Sunday. Italy won the game on penalty shots and Zizou was ejected for a headbutt late in extra time - this classless act would be the last play of his supposed "great" career - I guess it is only fitting as one does not associate "class" with anything to do with France. Congrats. again to Italy as they are World Cup Champs for at least the next 4 years. Posted by Picasa

"Silly Sign Saturday" - This sign is on the score board at the Penn State University Football Field. Must be an easy game for the defenses here when you know every play is going to be a run - wide recievers need not show up. Posted by Picasa

The Editors of Buffett's Blog would like to wish Steve Yzerman all the best in his retirement. He was one of the best and one of the classiest individuals to ever play in The NHL. His retirement marks the the last player of the greatest line in history to retire. Early in his career he was part of the feared Howe, Lindsey, Yzerman combination. Next week once the smoke clears and I have time to digest it all I will be doing an exclusive feature on all the free agent signings so far. Posted by Picasa
